A Daughter’s Broken Plea

Hello Father,

I know ages have gone by since the last time the ground felt my knees,
But once again, thy daughter cometh, hoping to speak with thee,
She wishes to begin this conversation with an apology,
She leads with this apology because she knows how disappointed You must be.

At the early hours of dawn, your daughter gazed upon her image in the mirror, and even she, despised the lady staring back at her.
Her eyes that were once considered bright like the summer blue,
Now carry an aura of grey like they were moulded by the cold hands of winter’s gloom,
Her ears, once graced by words dipped in the sweetest elixirs,
Have now grown accustomed to so many lies, and she no longer knows what to believe.
The constant betrayals, the persistent hurt, and the heart aches that her wildest imaginations could never have conceived, Have all sought to enslave your darling child.
She has tried to reveal this ongoing turmoil to people around, but they always dismiss her situation as mild.
After all, she is too young to be plagued by thoughts that grim.
After all, she is but a little child.

Perhaps, she is neglected because her internal screams are not as loud as she thought,
Perhaps, she would gain more audience if she didn’t speak her pain through dead silence and a broken gaze, instead of her mouth.
But Father, her lips are not strong enough to push across these heavy thoughts she carries around.
Your daughter indeed wishes that men could open her heart and see the war raging inside.
But alas, they cannot, so she now counts down to when she finally gets to live with you up in the clouds.

But how dare she have such thoughts of being with You?
For this daughter of Yours has ignored you for so long,
And she cannot even recall how her relationship with You went south.
She does remember how much in love she was in the beggining,
How Your glorious beauty rested on her melanin wrapped frame like a garment, swallowing her entire being,
Oh, how glorious was the union when she recieved thee, such that the heavens declared it magnificent.
Now, she’s afraid that sleeping beauty has turned maleficent.

Forgive her if she seems to be rambling this very hour,
It is a struggle, for guilt and condemnation battle to keep her from reaching the root of this prayer,
Because deep down, she knows all she suffers is of her own doing,
She made you her Alpha in the beginning, but sought the path of another Omega.
But now she returns, heart split in two, hoping that You would still call her ‘daughter’.

Father’s Response:

My Child,

I say unto thee most assuredly,

More than words may ever attempt to describe,
More than the visions of the night could ever reveal,
My love for thee is beyond mortal comprehension.
It is stronger than the forces that hold the universe in its place,
It is more consistent than the passing of night and the emergence of day.
The mythical depths of sunken Atlantis are far too shallow to be compared to the depths of My amazing grace,
And again I say to thee, nothing shall shield thee from mine loving gaze.
For when I knew thee, time was still in the womb of thought.
The greatness of My love for thee can only be seen in the price by which ye were bought.

Indeed, thou didst take thine eyes away from Me,
For from whence cometh these foreign thoughts thine heart echoes before Me?
Thou was and art made the envy of all creation, yet you suffer all these because thine heart desired more than I gave,
Thou sought comfort and pleasure in things that are temporary, rather than the One by whom you were saved.
Thou chose to define thyself by the standard of a fallen world, rather than the words of an eternal God,
A world whose harsh and vile ways cut deep into the heart like the edge of an English sword.

Many a times I saith to thee, that My grace is an election,
But you leaned to the world’s school of thought, which has kept you so long in detention,

Howbeit, in all these, My love for you remains
Most assuredly I tell you, I watched and waited for you all this while my darling saint,
Beckoning on your heart night and day without restraint,
For you are my daughter, and by My blood ye were made eternally mine.
Shun the voice of guilt! Resist the cry of condemnation!
For I, your Father, the Lord, am your Jusitification.
I am your wisdom and joy, I am your redemption song.
Understand that when I look upon thee, I see mine own reflection!
Surely you should see that, as I AM, so are you in this world, without question!
So arise! Do not speak like the dead when you are full of a God that is constantly living,
Arise! Acknowledge your place, for you are eternally forgiven!
