Midnight Thoughts #7: Find Your Way Back

I set out yesterday to go for a program but missed my stop. It wasn’t because I was absent minded, it was because I was certain I knew I was headed in the right direction. Days before, I checked google maps for the landmark written on the flier and was given precise directions. I was confident. But when I made the stop at where I thought I should, I decided to call the phone number to get more precise directions. It was then I learned I had gone past where I was to stop.

I believe a good number of us are still on our way to the wrong place all the while so confident we’re on the right path going in the right direction. A good number of us may have arrived at a destination that is nothing close to where we intended to go or where we were supposed to be but it’s okay. We’ve been blessed with a gracious Father who’s patient and ever present.

I’m still quite young and have so much of life to experience yet in my few years of living, I’ve learned that the only reliable person I can blindly depend on is God; not only because He loves me, but also because He is very well equipped to do so. He’s got the wisdom and resources so just like how a woman can completely rest her mind when she’s with her capable husband, I can absolutely relax and let God guide me.

If you’ve missed your way, it’s okay. Just look to God to redirect you to the right path, let Him guide you. It looks shameful to turn around with all the eyes on you and you may seem confused. But if God’s leading you, it’s all worth it. You can never be too far gone from God; He’ll find you and make a way.
