Fight The Good Fight (The Will of God II)

The difficulty in following God’s will is that the world around you doesn’t want you to.

On earth, it’s not God that calls all the shots. People can either attempt to completely spoil God’s plan or be a stumbling block to it.

Being God’s child isn’t easy. Following God’s will is even worse. The convenience that people practice as Christianity is why there are not many following God’s will for their success in life.

If it doesn’t follow a certain pattern, then it can’t be God’s doing. Convenient Christianity has taught many to believe that God works inside a box.

Thus, they discourage people or even themselves from doing what God intended for them.

Though there’s nothing new under heaven, God moves irrespective of people’s reasoning. He’s seen the future and knows the best path to take.

Giving God conditions like, “God, if you do this, then I’ll do that,” or “God, if it’s really you, then this should happen,”could be granted, but not for long. Eventually, “…the just shall live by His faith.”

With the things of God, you have to hold them tight and never let go. They aren’t waiting for you to do your heart’s desires before you decide to join God’s course. They aren’t waiting for the circumstances to be favorable either.

Imagine Jesus’ mother, Mary. God chose an unwed woman to be Jesus’ mother, who could be stoned to death if news of her pregnancy spread abroad.

If Mary was living in our day, how would christians react to her news? “Why couldn’t God use a married woman?” Or “Tell us the truth instead of this ‘God-thing’ you’re saying.”

It must’ve been hard for Mary to carry that burden of God’s will. God didn’t promise any burdens, rather He said, “…my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV).

Sacrifice is a part of following God’s will.

If you don’t make your choice to follow God at the time it’s asked of you, it won’t take long before God will stop bothering you and have someone else that’s willing to do it.

There will always be situations that’ll make you question everything God told you. But you have to carry your cross and follow God.

If there’s anything to take from the previous “The Praying Power” series, it’s that nothing will happen according to God’s desire until we pray (to create the pathway for God to do what He wants to do).

So, to see your life follow God’s plan is to blindly trust Him without looking back. It’s destroying your safety net and jumping into the air assured that God will catch you, no matter how close you are to smashing into a thousand pieces.

Grace is always sufficient for the man doing God’s will. If you stay on the course He’s set for you, soon, all the promises He’s said concerning you will come to pass.

I close with this, Matthew 10:38-39 says, “And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.” (KJV)

No man that willingly gave up anything for God, lost at the end. If you’re doing the will of your Father, welcome to the persecution game.

It can be tough. Was it with Abraham, David, Jesus, The Apostles? Their end was glorious. We stay looking to God who validates us and has called us for His work.
